Newspaper Owner Gives to Amphitheater Project

Restoration of the historic Santa Barbara Bowl amphitheater got a $2-million boost this week from Santa Barbara News-Press owner Wendy P. McCaw.
The gift will fund restoration of the 66-year-old bowl’s main plaza, where a former caretaker’s cottage called “El Balcon” sits, with public restrooms on the ground floor.
