Bow Hunting Ban Gets Initial Council OK

From Times Wire Reports

The City Council voted unanimously this week to ban bow hunting within city limits by amending a 1983 law that makes discharging a firearm illegal. The amendment adds bows and arrows to the law, along with other “dangerous weapons,” including air rifles, crossbows and any other instruments that project objects more than 50 feet.

The law, expected to take effect 30 days after another reading and a final council vote next month, exempts backyard target archery, provided that residents obtain police permits.
