Two former members of the Symbionese Liberation Army charged with a deadly 1975 bank robbery are not a danger to society and should be freed on bail, attorneys argued in court papers.

William and Emily Harris face a hearing Friday after their arrest Jan. 16 on murder charges in the slaying of 42-year-old Myrna Opsahl at a bank in Carmichael.

Their attorneys say both knew the charges were coming and had ample time to flee, but did not.

Also charged are former SLA members Sara Jane Olson--now in prison--and Michael Bortin, who was extradited from his home in Portland, Ore. James Kilgore, also accused in the case, has been a fugitive since the 1970s.
