Breakers Break the Spirit, 3-2

Dagny Mellgren scored two goals, and Maren Meinert had two assists as the Boston Breakers beat the San Diego Spirit, 3-2, Wednesday night before 5,450 at Boston.
The Breakers scored twice in the first 12 minutes, then held off a second-half charge from San Diego to remain unbeaten at home.
San Jose 3, Atlanta 1--Katia’s two second-half goals completed the CyberRays’ come-from-behind win before 5,933 at San Jose.
San Jose, winless in its previous three games, moved into a third-place tie with the Washington Freedom.
