4 Teens Arrested in Wave of Fireworks Vandalism
Four Thousand Oaks teens were arrested this week after authorities confiscated 97 illegal fireworks allegedly being used to destroy lighting fixtures in front of dozens of homes throughout the city.
Daniel Chambers, Garrett Cimino, Jennifer Guess and Adam Watson, all 19, were booked into the East County Jail on Thursday on suspicion of felony vandalism, conspiracy and possession of explosive devices.
Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Det. Eric Buschow said the teenagers attached large fireworks that had been purchased in Mexico to light fixtures using duct tape. They would then light the fuses and flee, he said.
The estimated damage is more than $1,000, Buschow said.
