Edamame in Wontons

Share

Everybody’s eating edamame (fresh soybeans) these days, but about the only place you’ll find them in wontons is at the Manhattan Wonton Co. The edamame are chopped fine along with spinach and Chinese chives, tucked inside wonton skins and fried or steamed. A tangy sweet soy sauce-based dip comes with each order unless you choose steamed edamame wontons in fire oil, which is a chile oil-based sauce that contains spinach leaves.

Crispy or steamed edamame wontons, $5.95; steamed in fire oil, $6.95, at Manhattan Wonton Co., 151 S. Doheny Drive, Beverly Hills. (310) 888-2804.
