Wine of the Week

Share

Vouvrays are among the most interesting dry white wines in the world and are still tremendously undervalued. This dry, minerally Chenin Blanc from one of Vouvray’s best producers is a wonderful summer wine that goes particularly well with Asian flavors.

You can drink it young, but it also develops compelling honeyed nuances with some age. Very few white wines under $20 have the substance to improve with age; this is one.

About $18. Available at Beverage Warehouse in Marina del Rey, (310) 306-2822; Epicurus in Santa Monica, (310) 395-1352; Wally’s in West Los Angeles, (310) 475-0606; and Brigg’s in Brentwood, (310) 476-1223. If you can’t find it, have your local wine shop contact distributor Robert Chadderdon Selections at (212) 775-8185.
