Exec Leaves Amazon for Another Net Firm

Amazon.com Inc. said senior executive Mark J. Britto has left to head another Internet company, the third high-ranking officer this year to depart or to announce plans to lead the largest Web retailer.

Britto, who was senior vice president of worldwide services, sales and business development, has become chief executive of Keen Inc., a closely held company that helps Internet users get advice from experts. His departure was reported by TheStreet.com.

Britto was one of Amazon.com’s five highest-paid executives last year, according to proxy material. His departure follows the exit of former marketing and merchandising chief David Risher. Chief Financial Officer Warren Jenson said in March that he will leave after a successor is found.

Britto’s duties were taken over by Mark Stabingas, who was vice president of business development, the company said.

Amazon shares fell 6 cents to $17.08 on Nasdaq.
