Japanese Man at Game Dies of Heart Attack
A 27-year-old Japanese man died of a heart attack just before the Senegal-Sweden game.
Shinya Itano collapsed near a staircase at Oita’s stadium and was found by a doctor attending the game as a spectator. The doctor provided emergency treatment before Itano was taken to a hospital.
Itano had undergone heart surgery in the past, Kyodo News agency reported.
On Friday, a 19-year-old student with a history of heart trouble collapsed on the way to a stadium showing the Japan-Tunisia game on a big screen. She died in a hospital.
