Two N. Koreans Slip Into South’s Embassy
Two North Korean women slipped past heavy Chinese security and got into the South Korean Embassy, joining 21 other asylum seekers in Seoul’s diplomatic offices in Beijing, a South Korean official said.
The two women, ages 27 and 30, entered the embassy Friday night, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
They were the first North Koreans to enter the embassy. Other asylum seekers are in a South Korean visa office a few blocks away, which some entered by showing guards fake Chinese identity cards.
