Re “Execution Abolished for Mentally Retarded,” June 21: Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s point seems to be: Hey, it’s going to be tough to sort out these guys. Let’s just go ahead and execute them all. That’s certainly the solution if simplifying things, rather than justice, is your main concern.

To quote Scalia, “Seldom has an opinion of this court rested so obviously upon nothing but the personal views of its members.” Indeed, not since Scalia and his friends on the court handed the presidency to George W. Bush.
