High Court Also Decides on Trial, Labor Issues

In other rulings Thursday, the Supreme Court:
* Upheld a law that requires a judge to order an additional two years in prison upon finding that a firearm was “brandished” during a drug-trafficking crime.
* Ruled unanimously that criminal defendants considering a guilty plea cannot demand that prosecutors first turn over all evidence that might help win an acquittal.
* Ruled unanimously that the National Labor Relations Board has been too quick to accuse companies of illegally suing unions.
* Banned attorney F. Lee Bailey from practicing law before the Supreme Court. The move was a formality since Bailey has already been disbarred in Florida and Massachusetts. Bailey was accused of mishandling stock owned by a drug defendant.
