Classics at Make-Up’s B-Day Bash

Share

America’s sweetheart Drew Barrymore was among the scene queens who turned out for Club Make-Up’s birthday party at the El Rey Theatre on Saturday. The glam rock club, now in its third year, was a blast from the past, as members of the Runaways performed classics such as “Cherry Bomb” and Dee Dee Ramone blazed through the Ramones hit “I Wanna Be Sedated.” I hear you, brotha.... Hollywood’s Beauty Bar celebrated its second birthday Feb. 26, Belly turned 1 on Feb. 14 and the Gate was the site of a swanky 50th birthday party for owner Art Davis.

In Davis’ house o’ Goth’ was Dennis Quaid, who, I’m told, practices yoga. Ohm.... Attempted to have lunch at Les Deux Cafe in Hollywood with my favorite D.C. band, Good Charlotte. But when singer Josh Madden showed up with pet “Cash Dog,” we had to amscray to Hollywood Boulevard.... Come kick it tonight at Moomba in WeHo with singer Joey Sehee, the self-proclaimed “White Sammy Davis Jr.” Wouldn’t miss it, baby....

Warning Will Robinson: The Viper’s Dayle Gloria says Ima Robot is the next big band.... Promoter Jason Lavitt’s brewing up a night at One Seven, the youth club at Hollywood & Highland. Lavitt, the reigning king of pop discos, should be a fab fit.... Holy moly! Dragstrip 66 is on Saturday at Rudolpho’s in Silver Lake, and the theme is “Drag Queen Time Machine: Dress as a Decade.” I guess I’ll be doing the time warp again.
