Serbian forces mutilated ethnic Albanian villagers during a crackdown in Kosovo in the late 1990s, a witness testified at the U.N. war crimes trial of Slobodan Milosevic in The Hague.

The witness, Sabit Kadriu of the Council for the Defense of Human Rights and Freedoms, investigated reports of killings by the Serbian police and army in several villages.

Kadriu said he saw mutilated bodies, with their eyes gouged out, their throats slit or skulls smashed.
