Re “For Survivors of a Dark Chapter of World War II, an Epilogue,” March 9: While the survivors claim that the government didn’t acknowledge the sinking of the Leopoldville until the 1990s, it received fairly detailed coverage in Samuel Eliot Morison’s “History of U.S. Naval Operations in World War II.” This was published in 1986 as part of Volume X, Pages 334 to 337.
