Silver Medalist Peirsol Competing in Nationals
Aaron Peirsol of Newport Harbor High is one of 15 Olympians entered in the Phillips 66 Spring National Championships in Minneapolis this week.
Peirsol, a Texas-bound senior, won a silver medal in the 200-meter backstroke at the 2000 Games in Sydney.
Other entries from the region include Diana MacManus and Courtney Cashion of Irvine High, Erin Volcan of Anaheim Canyon, Adrienne Binder of Santa Barbara San Marcos and Hayley Peirsol of Newport Harbor.
The five-day event begins Tuesday.
