Anemia Lifeline

www.anemia.com

Overview: Lifeline is meant as a basic resource for people suffering from anemia--a condition in which blood doesn’t adequately supply the body with oxygen, causing fatigue, weakness and often dizziness. Sponsors include the National Kidney Foundation and Amgen, the maker of one of the top-selling anemia drugs.

What works: The site is organized the way we think: It starts with the symptom (anemia) and works backward to explain causes. These include vitamin deficiencies, drug side effects, kidney disease and cancer. Lifeline also provides a few basics about hemoglobin levels, which help in diagnosing the condition. But beyond this the site is, well, anemic. There is little about the science behind the condition.
