UC Irvine to Award 4 Its Highest Honor

UC Irvine will award four people its highest honor at a dinner tonight at the Hyatt Regency Irvine.

The UCI medal recognizes the winners’ commitment to teaching, research and community service.

The recipients are Jill Beck, dean of UCI’s Claire Trevor School of the Arts; Dwight W. Decker, chairman and CEO of Conexant Systems; J. Hillis Miller, professor of English and comparative literature; and Ted Smith, founder and retired chair of FileNet Corp.

The UCI Foundation sponsors the event. Proceeds support graduate fellowships and the UCI Regent Scholars program.
