Duty Without Honor
Re “Empty American Promises Embitter an Afghan Village,” March 26: What has happened to the honor of our country? How can a Special Forces soldier be allowed to make promises of food and goods to villagers in Afghanistan in return for risking their lives to fight for us, then proceed to flatten their villages with bombs--and now we turn our backs. How can this behavior, according to our military experts, be not only condoned but encouraged? For shame!
