* Happy Hats for Kids in Rolling Hills Estates, which uses whimsical hats and books to entertain hospitalized children who have cancer, AIDS, diabetes and other life-threatening illnesses, needs volunteers with experience writing and a gift for humor or rhyme. * Los Angeles County Museum of Art is accepting applications for volunteers for its Museum Service Council. Volunteers provide support for activities including working with curators on special exhibitions and the museum’s permanent collection, assisting in the art conservation department, the film department, the special events department, and working with families on education programs in the Boone Children’s Gallery.
