Laker Fans All Over Wait for the Big Fix

Share

Memo to the Lakers: You play maybe two games a week in the playoffs. The fans spend hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars to see you play. You make millions to show your talents to the whole country.

Play a full game of basketball!

I love watching the Lakers play when they show up and execute, but I’m getting tired of getting one good game for every 10 I watch.

The emperor has no clothes. Phil Jackson has pulled the wool over this man’s eyes for the last time. I have seen the mountaintop and Phil is not on it.

How can all of us have been so blind? The greatest coach? Ha! He is nothing more than a Pat Riley clone, and by that I mean, if you have the greatest players in the game, how can you not win championships?

Let’s look at what he did, or didn’t do, Tuesday night. When Tim Duncan went out of the game in the first half for a couple minutes, the great Phil did not once have his team get Shaq the ball. Phil claims that he wants them to “figure it out” for themselves. Well, in that case, I guess we don’t need a coach then, do we, Phil?

A robbery was committed at 1111 N. Figueroa Street in downtown Los Angeles, California (known to most as “Staples Center”) on Tuesday night. The three culprits of the crime were seen wearing black slacks and gray shirts with red numbers. They are known to be armed (with whistles) and very dangerous. These culprits are ruthless and have been rumored to feel above the law.

Please be aware, should you locate these hooligans, do not approach them or even speak ill of them, as their ringleader, Mr. Stern Corleone, has been known to levy tremendous fines on those who do. The last such incident involved a hefty $500,000.

Granted, Kobe should have made a better play, or at least a play, at the end of the game, and the Lakers should have done something in the first half to not allow these culprits to take advantage. However, a crime is a crime. It is yet to be determined if those responsible will be brought to justice or allowed to continue their spree elsewhere in the country.

The disgusting performance displayed by the NBA and its officiating crew is a turnoff to any lover of sports, period. Do you really think the Lakers committed 50% more fouls than the Spurs on Tuesday night? Are they just that much more abusive? Did MVP Tim Duncan really commit only two fouls the entire game, while Shaq committed four fouls in the first half?

In its greed-driven culture, pioneered by Mr. Stern, the league casts aside the true essence of athletic competition in favor of money. In order to keep viewership, and thus TV contracts, high, Mr. Stern feels that close games are better than fair games.
