Police Hurt as Mobs Riot in East Belfast

Rioting mobs fired shots and hurled gasoline bombs in East Belfast, leaving three police officers hurt and a police vehicle burned.
A police spokesman said the violence broke out shortly after midnight Saturday at an “interface” between Protestant and Roman Catholic neighborhoods. East Belfast is predominantly Protestant.
One officer required hospital treatment for facial injuries.
