A Cheat by Any Other Name Is Still a Cheat

Re “Gee, Is There a Choice Between Profits and Patriotism?” by Arianna Huffington, Commentary, May 15: We are made aware of the massive corruption in other societies that robs the average citizen. I see these “unpatriotic” American companies moving to offshore islands to avoid paying their fair share of taxes as nothing more than legalized corruption.

Cheating us citizens of $70 billion in taxes is another example of corporate welfare; at the same time, corporations receive government contracts and pay no taxes on those profits. Corruption by any other name smells as bad. Where is Congress, which should be closing this loophole?
