Mexican President Vicente Fox’s weekly radio address is coming to the United States, courtesy of a national, Spanish-language radio network.

On June 1, Radio Unica will begin transmitting the address as part of its Saturday lineup that includes President Bush’s radio address from the Oval Office.

“With the large Mexican population north of the border, and with his interest in immigration, we made an offer to Fox,” said Radio Unica’s chief executive officer, Joaquin F. Blaya.

Last May, Radio Unica broadcast the first Spanish version of a U.S. president’s weekly radio address when Bush, in honor of Cinco de Mayo, delivered the weekly three- to five-minute talk in English and then in Spanish.

Since then, the Miami-based network, which was founded in 1998, has continued to provide its listeners with simultaneous Spanish translations of Bush’s weekly radio addresses.
