A suicidal gunman who stormed CBS Television City was recovering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound Wednesday, as investigators tried to determine the man’s motive.

Raymond Derouen Jr., 31, shot himself in the abdomen with a handgun about 9:25 p.m. Tuesday, ending a standoff with police that lasted more than four hours inside the network’s studios. No one else was hurt.

Derouen was hospitalized in critical but stable condition at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and was being held for investigation of attempted murder, police Sgt. Jesse Williams said.
