From Times Wire Reports

South Korea’s millionaire soccer chief inaugurated a new party as part of his campaign for the presidency, pledging to reform what he called “inefficient and corrupt” politics.

Chung Mong Jun’s party, National Unity 21, was launched as the nation’s faction-ridden political parties jockeyed for position ahead of the Dec. 19 vote.

Chung said his party will promote peaceful coexistence with communist North Korea and strive for faster economic development. His campaign pledge was broad and lacked specifics.
