Striking Back Against Al Qaeda in Yemen

Share

To the naive, left-wing fools who assert that in destroying an Al Qaeda van filled with terrorists and explosives the U.S. is somehow at fault (letters, Nov. 7), I say this: What did you want the U.S. to do, read them their Miranda rights? These murderers have been emboldened by our lack of response in the past and have no respect for international law or any other kind of law. When you’re in a street fight and someone is kneeing you in the groin, you respond in kind.

When the next terrorist attack is perpetrated against this country, these same people will complain that the intelligence agencies haven’t been doing their job. So the CIA whacks a key Bin Laden lieutenant on his way to murder innocent people and they cry that President Bush is a terrorist. Gimme a break.

Funny how The Times consistently prints these sorts of ridiculous letters, yet the average person on the street seems delighted by the fact that we’re striking back.
