British public support for military action against Iraq is falling, according to a newspaper poll published today.

The ICM Research survey for the Guardian found that support for war against Baghdad had fallen to 32%, one point down from the previous week’s poll.

Public support had reached a peak of 37% in a poll for the same newspaper two weeks ago.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair is the United States’ chief ally in the war on terror, but he faces opposition to military action against Iraq within his ruling Labor Party.
