Former WorldCom Inc. controller David Myers pleaded guilty to a Mississippi state charge that he conspired to commit securities fraud at the long-distance phone company.

State Atty. Gen. Michael Moore said he planned to use Myers’ plea and his promised cooperation to bring more prosecutions related to fraud at the Clinton, Miss.-based company. Moore has deferred Myers’ sentencing on the state charge, which followed a federal guilty plea involving the same alleged fraud.
