President Acknowledges Teen Is His Daughter
From Times Wire Reports
Putting an end to a politically damaging paternity lawsuit, Peruvian President Alejandro Toledo has acknowledged as his daughter a 14-year-old girl he had long denied was his, her mother said in Lima, the capital.
Lucrecia Orozco told a radio station that Toledo had agreed to pay compensation for the 14 years he failed to recognize his daughter, Zarai Toledo. A newspaper said the amount was about $100,000. Mother and daughter returned to their home in northern Peru.
