Re “War Clouds Again Shield N. Korea,” Commentary, Oct. 24: War clouds shield no one anywhere. In fact, they rain terror wherever they gather. From what we can see now of the disastrous effects of policies of violence, both personal and national, it is increasingly obvious that the world is growing beyond war as a method of foreign policy. Everything indicates that peace-building through practicing patience, understanding, compassion and justice is the better path to the future. Look at it this way: The human race now resembles one huge butterfly, ever so slowly emerging from its dark cocoon into the sunlight.
