Government to Ban Muslim Militant Groups
From Times Wire Reports
Britain said it was seeking to ban four militant Muslim groups that it believes are linked to Osama bin Laden’s Al Qaeda network.
Home Secretary David Blunkett said he would submit the names of the groups -- Jemaah Islamiah, Abu Sayyaf, the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan and Asbat al-Ansar -- to Parliament, which is expected to approve the ban Wednesday.
Jemaah Islamiah is suspected of involvement in the Bali bombing that killed more than 180 people this month.
