Passengers can carry beverages in paper or foam cups through metal detectors at airports under a new policy of the Transportation Security Administration, the Associated Press reported. Containers of beverages must be sealed and put through the X-ray screening machine. An open can of soda won’t be allowed through a checkpoint, but a bottle of soda with a top that can be sealed will be, officials said.... Park One, a privately owned parking lot at 6351 W. Century Blvd. near Los Angeles International Airport, will offer free parking for the 24-hour period of Sept. 11. Its regular daily rates, including tax, are $16.45 for self-park, $21.95 for valet.
