The Circle Game

In Monday’s “Counterpunch” column (“Circling Wagons in Defense of Alien ‘Crop’ Theory,” Sept. 2), Suzanne Taylor puts forth citation-free hand-waving to assert that crop circles are an “otherworldly phenomenon” and that “to close one’s eyes to overwhelming evidence that indicates the formations are outside human bounds is something else again.”

What overwhelms me is how Taylor, who purports to be dedicated to furthering “humanity’s oneness,” can have so little respect, appreciation and knowledge of those human bounds, which include art, architectural wonders, amazing scientific discoveries and our footprints on the moon.

The idea that humanity, capable of such works, could not have made patterns in remote fields is incredible to me. The idea that mere humans could outwit her had apparently not occurred to Taylor, but it certainly occurred to me after I read her jejune remarks.
