Salton Settles Antitrust Suit
Attorneys general from 43 states have settled an antitrust suit for $8.2 million against a wholesaler accused of muscling retail stores into fixing the price of George Foreman grills.
Housewares manufacturer Salton Inc. also was accused of coercing stores into excluding rival grills from their shelves.
George Foreman, an Olympic gold medal winner and product pitchman, was not involved in the anti-competitive practices, the attorneys general said.
A spokeswoman for Salton didn’t respond to a request for comment.
