Any Unsolved Murder Clamors for Justice
Silly me! I thought any unsolved murder was newsworthy, implying both a family that cannot have peace and the existence of a killer in our midst. So why does Lee Gardner (letter, Sept. 10) dismiss further investigation into the death of Tupac Shakur as “drivel” (Sept. 6-7)? The only possible reasons are that Shakur was an artist and a black man.
The prevalence of this kind of attitude in our country makes me wonder why I should care who killed all those cops and stockbrokers (clearly, no friends of mine!) in New York last year.
