Mexico’s Foreign Ministry said Ricardo Pascoe would step down as ambassador to Cuba on Monday after he was recalled to face a probe over alleged corruption.

Earlier this month, the ministry said an audit of the Havana embassy found $87,000 worth of fraud that stemmed from skimming cash meant for social functions, authorizing duplicate services and paying for “irregular services.” It said Pascoe was responsible for the money.
