4 Dead as Tropical Storm Unleashes Mudslide
- Share via
Tropical Storm Lili ripped roofs from homes, uprooted trees and unleashed a mudslide that buried a woman and three of her children in the eastern Caribbean country of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The storm damaged houses, schools and a police station. The woman and children died when mud broke away from a rain-soaked hillside and came crashing down on a concrete wall of their home.
Lili was expected to become a hurricane early today, make a turn to the northwest and make land in southern Haiti late today or early Thursday.
