Ford Motor Co. plans to build more vehicles in the fourth quarter as demand in the U.S. grows, Chief Executive William Clay Ford Jr. said.
“We’re going to increase production slightly in the fourth quarter,” said Ford at a car-industry conference in Paris. “September sales are OK.”
The auto maker has said it plans to produce 960,000 vehicles in the fourth quarter in North America, a 4.1% decline from a year earlier.
The company’s shares rose 63 cents, or 6.7%, to $9.97 on the NYSE.
