Granting Benefits to Gay Workers Is a Good Move
Re “Sacramento County OKs Partner Benefits,” Sept. 12:
It was with great relief and gratitude that I read of Sacramento County’s decision to provide benefits to its thousands of gay employees.
I continue to be surprised and ashamed by individuals and entities who deny homosexuals the same rights as heterosexuals under the bigoted illusion that straight people are somehow better and more deserving than gays.
Kudos to the county of Sacramento and other regions in California that recognize equitable treatment is the right of every California citizen regardless of sexual orientation.
