Perfect Story in the Making?

Share

Exposed in her first graded stakes appearance, Perfect Story will try to rebound in today’s $250,000 Stonerside Beaumont at Keeneland.

A half-sister to Point Given, the winner of the 2001 Preakness and Belmont Stakes, Perfect Story won three of her first five for owner John Oxley and trainer John Ward, but finished fourth in the Davona Dale at Gulfstream on Feb. 23.

The chestnut daughter of Tale of the Cat was beaten nearly 15 lengths by Yell and will have a new rider in the Beaumont, which is run at about seven furlongs. Kent Desormeaux, who is riding the Keeneland meet, has the call. Edgar Prado, who has ridden Perfect Story in five of her six races, is sticking with Midnight Cry.
