Court Rebukes a Florida Judge

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The state Supreme Court reprimanded a judge Thursday and ordered him to write letters of apology to 12 people he offended with courtroom remarks.
The court’s opinion cited 13 examples of Circuit Judge Sheldon Schapiro’s misconduct.
Once, addressing a defense attorney, Schapiro allegedly said: “Do you know what I think of your argument?” and then pushed a button on a device that simulated the sound of a toilet flushing.
