Government, Rebel Peace Meeting Canceled

A meeting in Geneva between Indonesian government officials and separatist rebels from Aceh province has been canceled and a top Indonesian official said tension in the region was likely.
Indonesia’s chief Security Minister Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said the government would hold an emergency meeting to discuss the next step for the troubled peace deal. The talks had been scheduled to open today. Rebel leaders said they remained committed to peace and said the government canceled the talks over timing.
