Yoga pose balances out the workout regimen

Yoga poses such as this one can help strengthen your body and calm your mind. By incorporating such postures into your exercise routine, you can help improve your focus and balance.

1 Stand with your weight equally distributed on both feet, with your big toes and heels touching. Shift your weight to your left foot, placing your right heel against your left inner thigh. Press your left inner thigh against your right heel to create equal pressure. Reach your left hand overhead and concentrate on balancing on your left leg. Begin to move your right knee back in line with your right hip. Do not allow your left hip to swing forward. Breathe and maintain your balance.

2 When you feel steady, begin to stretch both arms up with your palms facing each other, reaching up with your fingers. Lift up through your spine and breathe for 30 seconds. To release, bring your left foot down to the floor. Repeat on the other side.
