The eye has it with top shows

The heat was truly on at CBS as the network scored the five top highest-rated series of the week among total viewers, according to national Nielsen ratings released Tuesday.

“CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Without a Trace,” “60 Minutes,” “CSI: Miami” and “Everybody Loves Raymond” filled out the top 5, while the network’s “King of Queens” also appeared in the Top 10 among total viewers at No. 7. All but “60 Minutes” were repeats.

CBS and NBC were the only two of the major four networks to have shows in the top 22 among total viewers. ABC’s highest-rated show, “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” landed at No. 23, while Fox’s top series, “America’s Most Wanted: America Fights Back,” came in at No. 33.

In the unscripted genre, NBC’s “Who Wants to Marry My Dad?” has turned into a surprise hit, while more highly publicized reality shows such as “American Juniors” and “Cupid” continue to struggle.

On the cable front, Lifetime was pleased with its Saturday’s premiere of “1-800 Missing” and “Wild Card.” “1-800 Missing,” starring “ER” alum Gloria Reuben, became the most-watched premiere in Lifetime’s 19-year history, averaging 3.3 million total viewers, while “Wild Card,” starring Joely Fisher, ranked as the third most-watched debut with 2.8 million total viewers.
