Transit Official Quits After Audit
The executive director of two beleaguered Coachella Valley transit agencies resigned Wednesday.
The board of directors of the SunLine Transit Agency and the related SunLine Services Group accepted Chief Executive Richard Cromwell III’s resignation at its monthly meeting. Cromwell was placed on paid administrative leave last month after an audit alleged fiscal mismanagement, misspent public funds, violations of federal transit laws and other concerns.
The agencies, internationally recognized for their groundbreaking use of clean fuels, are being investigated by county, state and federal authorities.
