Nurse Hurt in Bombing at Clinic Wins Judgment
A nurse injured in a 1998 bombing at an abortion clinic won a $115-million judgment in her suit against suspect Eric Rudolph.
A circuit court judge awarded $5 million more than had been requested in the suit filed by Emily Lyons and her husband. The Lyonses said they did not expect to receive any money but hoped the ruling would stop Rudolph from benefiting from his notoriety.
Rudolph is also accused in the 1996 bombing at the Olympics in Atlanta and is awaiting his criminal trials. His lawyer said he had not admitted guilt in the clinic bombing.
