From Times Wire Reports

Suspected Marxist rebels opened fire with machine guns as a helicopter carrying Colombian President Alvaro Uribe approached the village of Granada in the country’s northeast, presidential spokesman Ricardo Galan said.

Uribe ordered the helicopter to turn back to the town of Rio Negro, and no one aboard was hurt. Another helicopter carrying his bodyguards fired into the thick jungle hiding the gunmen, but it was unknown whether they hit anyone. The president returned to Granada later and spoke in the main square.
