Re “To Fix Gay Dilemma, Government Should Quit the Marriage Business,” Commentary, Dec. 3: Alan Dershowitz’s comments clearly state a neglected central issue in the gay marriage debate -- the constitutional church-state issue. Should government be involved in any way in the “sacrament” of marriage? Let’s hope this will be the beginning of more much-needed dialogue addressing this matter specifically.
