Top General Says He’s Certain Bin Laden Will Be Caught

BAGRAM, Afghanistan — Osama bin Laden is probably alive and will be caught one day “with absolute certainty,” America’s top general said while visiting U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
Air Force Gen. Richard B. Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Thursday that Bin Laden was probably hiding in the rugged border region between Pakistan and Afghanistan, “where he has some support.”
“It’s very difficult to find individuals. What will happen is, with absolute certainty ... he will be captured someday, just like we captured Saddam Hussein,” Myers said at the air base here, the U.S. military headquarters in Afghanistan.
Bin Laden’s Al Qaeda network was responsible for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
